This adventure starts as we board the ferry to cross into Morocco. After the short trip across the Straits of Gibraltar, we go through the border control formalities. Once we have all cleared the border post we will head for camp.

The following day we will travel down the motorway towards Fes and then on towards Guercif, heading south crossing the Plateau Rekkam passing by the occasional berbers’ camp, towards Boudnib.

Having refuelled we now head out across the empty quarter skirting the Algerian border. Here you will see a built up military presence. We push on down towards the famous Erg Chebbi sand dunes where we will stay for a couple of nights.

Depending on the time of arrival you might be able to drive the sand dunes or get a camel ride to the top of the dunes to watch the sun set. We will spend a day exploring this unique area.

Leaving the dunes behind us, we continue south to Zagora, passing by the Jebel Mrakib. This is an ancient mountain ridge where fossils can be found. Depending on time, we might be able to stop and have a look.

From Zagora we head south following the Algerian border for a short while. Going in land we pass by Jebel Bani “ the desert gardens” and on to lake Iriki towards Forum Zugid. From here we head towards Tata where we cross boulder strewn river beds as we traverse our way towards Taliouine.

From Taliouine we slowly work our way towards Marrakech where we will spend two nights, where you will be able to enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of this city.

The final day will be getting back up to the top of Morocco to catch the ferry back across the Straits of Gibraltar where the trip will finish.
